My name is Vladimir Medio Sentosa, in short Vlad. Honestly speaking, I am not Russian. I was born in Indonesia (Surabaya) from both Indonesian parents. Graduated from Sepuluh November Institute of Technology (ITS), majoring in Offshore Engineering, I am now working with McDermott Asia Pacific in Kuala Lumpur as Principle Subsea Engineer. Before joining this company, I was serving my carrier with Subsea 7 (Singapore), EMAS AMC / Emas Chiyoda Subsea (Singapore), SapuraAcergy (Kuala Lumpur) as well as Subsea 7 (Paris and Houston) for some assignments, and also Adamac Group of Companies (Port Harcourt). Mostly I spent my carrier on installation engineering for subsea pipeline both flexible and rigid (S-Lay, J-Lay, Reel Lay), subsea cable, umbilical, risers, moorings, subsea structures (manifold, xmas tree, jumper, flying leads, PLET, PLEM, ITA, ILT), floating structures (MWA, FPSO, TLP), or anything that has to be installed subsea!
Thanks to Pak Gunawan, who was my numero uno mentor, for his support, trust, and knowledge that makes who I am now. Even though we are not in the same company, but I believe our path will be crossed again in the future. Looking forward to working again with him!
I am married and happy with 2 awesome kids: Vladislav and Miroslav. Yeah, their names sound similar to my name – this is to keep the Russian path in the family! Oh Gosh, now I am thinking to visit Vladivostok!
Good luck for us!
